Context

Health units often struggle to centralize prenatal records and quickly replenish critical supplies, causing delays in care for pregnant patients and loss of medical history.

Problem

Decentralized medical information and manual bureaucracy in material redistribution hinder continuous patient monitoring and maintenance of critical supplies (such as medications and emergency materials).

Solution

A unified web portal that digitizes prenatal document submission and automates the logistics workflow, enabling fast supply transfer requests between health clinics in the network.

Technical Decisions

  • Spring Security ecosystem for permission management and route protection (JWT)
  • PostgreSQL chosen for its robustness in handling complex relationships and transactional integrity of sensitive data

Technical Implementation

Coming soon.

Challenges

  • Ensuring full security and privacy of sensitive patient medical data, complying with LGPD (Brazil's data protection law)
  • Mapping and modeling business rules for logistics and approval workflows for inter-unit redistribution

What I Learned

  • Implementation of advanced security protocols and data encryption in REST APIs
  • Deepening expertise in building asynchronous approval workflows on the backend

Results

  • Expected to reduce material transfer bureaucracy from days to minutes
  • Full centralization of prenatal records, ensuring patient history follows them regardless of which unit they visit
